What time is the budget? When to watch Rishi Sunak's announcement

Rishi Sunak will deliver a speech in the House of Commons today, delivering the Autumn 2021 budget.

People on the National Living Wage, NHS workers and education are set to benefit.

The Chancellor of the Exchequer has also promised to end the public sector pay freeze.

Live coverage of today's announcement will be able to watch on BBC Two, as well as news channels such as BBC and Sky.

ITV is also expected to air live coverage of the Budget in an extended lunchtime news show.

It is reported that he will have more money than expected to spend due to a fast bounce-back from Covid.

The Chancellor is set to strike an upbeat tone as he talks up building a “stronger economy of the future."

Rishi Sunak is expected to deliver his speech at around 12:30pm today.

He will address the Commons after PMQs, which runs at midday every Tuesday.

During his speech, Mr Sunak is expected to say: “Today’s Budget begins the work of preparing for a new economy post-Covid.

“An economy of higher wages, higher skills, and rising productivity of strong public services, vibrant communities and safer streets.

“An economy fit for a new age of optimism. That is the stronger economy of the future.”
