The first May Bank Holiday weekend is here and if you need to visit your local Tesco, then keep reading as you’ll need to know the opening and closing times before you go.

Most major supermarkets across the UK will be open on bank holiday Monday, April 3, but some are operating slightly different hours compared to usual.

Tesco will thankfully be open on the extra day off - but stores can vary from store to store. Shoppers can find out specific details for their nearest branch by using the online store locator.

The chain is currently running some amazing offers online, including two for £7 on barbecue meats and 25% off six bottles of wine for Clubcard members.

You can also get three for two on strawberries, raspberries and blueberries. See all offers running online by visiting Tesco's website.

Tesco May Day Bank Holiday opening times

  • Saturday May 1 - stores are open as normal.
  • Sunday May 2 - stores are open as normal.
  • Monday May 3 - most stores will be open between 8am and 8pm - check specific timings for your local branch online before you head out.
