Taoiseach Micheal Martin is set to address the nation on Tuesday evening to outline what lockdown restrictions will be eased from April 5.
The Cabinet Sub-Committee on Covid-19 met on Monday evening to assess what measures could be relaxed next month.
It comes after the number of daily Covid cases began to steadily rise in recent weeks.
But when can we expect to hear official news from the Government?
What time is the Taoiseach set to address the nation?
While we don't have any official confirmation yet, every major Covid-19 related announcement about restrictions, going back to the beginning of the pandemic, has been made during either the Six One news or the Nine O'Clock news.
It is widely expected to be the former tonight, after the Government meeting lasted until late yesterday evening.
So we can predict that Micheál Martin will be walking down the steps at Government buildings at around 6.10pm.
What major changes are set to be announced?
Many of the most stringent rules are set to remain in place, with NPHET advocating for a cautious approach to any reopening of society.
The most highly-anticipated announcement today is likely to be whether the 5km limit on travel will be extended.
This limit is likely to be extended, with a number of options under consideration by Ministers.

One possibility reportedly being examined is for travel to be allowed within counties around April 12 when all students return to schools.
The possibility of meeting twice as many people from other households is also being tabled.
What about sports and construction?
Another priority for the Government is to get kids back at sports training outdoors from next month.
However, as the Irish Mirror has learned, non-contact outdoor sports for adults, like golf and tennis, will likely lose out.
A Cabinet source told the Mirror last night that further construction will resume from next week, with the emphasis firmly on the building of houses.
And when can we go for pints and get haircuts?

To the dismay of many, haircuts and pints are off the agenda for today's announcement.
