The Scottish Government will issue a Covid update later today on the coronavirus situation in Scotland.
Deputy First Minister John Swinney will give an update in parliament on Tuesday instead of Nicola Sturgeon, who is attending COP26.
It comes as the average number of Covid cases identified in Scotland has remained flat over the past month, with new infections slightly rising in recent days.
The latest data revealed that Scotland recorded 2,012 new cases in the past 24-hour period but no deaths were reported.
However, there are fears that the COP26 climate conference in Glasgow could lead to a spike in covid cases in Glasgow and beyond.
A recent publication has also found a rise in virus levels found in Scotland’s sewage.
It was found that the levels of Covid-19 in the waste water system in Scotland had increased by around 20% in the week from October 20 to 26.
Humza Yousaf last week hinted at new restrictions being imposed in Scotland as the NHS in Scotland said to be ‘at capacity’.

The Health Secretary said that the Government is continuing to “explore all options” when dealing with the health crisis across the country.
Speaking to MSPs, he said: “Cases remain much lower than the previous peak around the start of September. But the decline in new cases has halted in recent weeks – and, at around 2,500 new cases per day, it is still at a level well above previous lows.
"There are early signs that case numbers may increase again hereafter. The situation remains precarious.
"As you would expect, presiding officer, the Scottish Government continues to explore all options for how it will respond to the evolving pandemic and we will not hesitate to strengthen the protective measures in place if it proves necessary to do so.

"The uncertainty and risk we face as Winter progresses means now is certainly not the time to relax our approach. We all need to redouble our efforts to adhere to the protective measures in place and follow the guidance.”
When will the Scottish Government provide a Covid update today?

The Scottish Government will update MSPs on the latest Covid situation from around 2.20pm this afternoon, but this time is subject to change.
John Swinney is expected to speak for around 20 minutes before taking questions for around 40 minutes.
The Deputy First Minister will take over from Nicola Sturgeon as she continues her COP26 hosting duties.
