What time is Prime Minister Boris Johnson's coronavirus announcement today?

Prime Minister Boris Johnson is to address the nation in an update on coronavirus shortly.

The press conference will be held from Downing Street at 11am.

Mr Johnson is expected to announce an extra £3billion in NHS funding to protect against a possible second wave of coronavirus.

Amid warnings that the deadly virus could rebound, No. 10 has said the funding would allow extra hospital capacity while routine treatments and procedures can continue.

The Prime Minister will also set a new target to reach testing capacity of 500,000 a day by November.

There will also be an update for businesses on the latest advice for staff working from home.

It follows a press briefing on Thursday evening led by Health Secretary Matt Hancock, who announced that Leicester is set to remain in lockdown for another two weeks.

We will have a live blog with the latest news from the briefing.
