What time is Nicola Sturgeon speaking today and what will she announce?

Nicola Sturgeon is set to announce whether further coronavirus restrictions will be imposed across Scotland in response to growing concerns surrounding the Omicron variant.

The First Minister is due to make a statement at Holyrood on Tuesday setting out any new measures as well as updating the Scottish Parliament on the booster vaccination programme.

After tightening rules around self isolation last week, the FM is expected to lay out some form of further restriction after Health Secretary Humza Yousaf warned they were "inevitable."

You can find all of the latest updates from today on our Covid LIVE blog here.

And speaking in advance of the statement, Ms Sturgeon cautioned that there may be "targeted and proportionate" measures introduced as a trade-off for allowing families to meet at Christmas.

The First Minister will be speaking at Holyrood, with her statement expected at around 2.20pm.
