What time is Nicola Sturgeon's lockdown review and how to watch it

Nicola Sturgeon will be updating the nation on current coronavirus restriction level for each local authority today.

The First Minister will confirm to the Scottish Parliament which levels of restrictions will apply to which local authority area from this Friday onwards.

The current Level 3 restrictions in place across Glasgow are expected to remain in place.

Sturgeon previously said that she hopes the measures that came into force last Friday would stay in place throughout the Christmas period.

She has already urged people in Scotland to “cut down on unnecessary contacts” now if they plan on meeting up with relatives at Christmas.

She said that the “best Christmas gift we can give family and friends” is to “keep our distance and keep them safe”.

The First Minister is addressing parliament and is expected to deliver the review around 2.20pm.

She will face question from MSPs after the update rather than from the media.

How can you watch the announcement?

Sturgeon’s update will be streamed live on our Facebook page as she delivers it in parliament, with the speech also being broadcast on BBC Scotland.

You will be able to watch the announcement on the  Scottish Parliament TV  website.
