What time is Nicola Sturgeon's coronavirus lockdown statement today and how to watch it

The Scottish Government will make an announcement on lockdown restrictions this afternoon.

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon will meet with her Cabinet this morning to discuss the latest advice and infection rates ahead of her update.

She is expected to deliver a statement on lockdown being extended beyond the end of January and the schools closure policy, though she has indicated classrooms are unlikely to reopen in early February.

What time will the First Minister be speaking?

Proceedings begin at 2pm, beginning with parliamentary bureau motions and questions from MSPs followed by Nicola Sturgeon's statement.

Where can I watch it?

Viewers can watch the update live on Scottish Parliament TV, or on the Scottish Government YouTube page. It will also be aired live on BBC Scotland.

The SNP's official Twitter page will be tweeting the announcement live.
