Nicola Sturgeon will update the nation on Scotland’s five-tier coronavirus alert system later today.
Tougher restrictions could be imposed in the north east of the country as public health officials grow concerned over case numbers in recent day.
Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire are both in level two but could go up to level three, which would force pubs and restaurants to stop serving alcohol.
Concerns have also been raised about the number of cases reported in Perthshire and Clackmannanshire. Both areas are currently in level three.
Glasgow and 10 neighbouring councils are expected to remain at the highest level four until December 11.
What time is the update today?
The First Minister will make her announcement at the Scottish Parliament today rather than the usual format of her daily briefing.
Sturgeon will then face questions from MSPs shortly after providing an update on Scotland’s tiers.
Details of the weekly review will be read out at around 2.15pm on Tuesday, December 1, but this could start later depending on the previous debate in parliament.
