What time is Nicola Sturgeon's announcement today? Where to watch and what to expect

Nicola Sturgeon is set to give an update on the latest coronavirus in Scotland later today.

The First Minister is expected to announce that the whole country will move down to lockdown Level Three on April 26.

Under Level Three restrictions travel between Scotland, England and Wales will be permitted while pubs, restaurants and cafe will also be allowed to open for the first time in several months.

Other areas of the economy including gyms and non-essential shops will also reopen from later this month.

More people will be allowed to go to funerals, weddings and events with up to 50 people permitted.

Tourist accommodation will be allowed to reopen, however subject to social distancing rules.

What time does it start?

Nicola Sturgeon is expected to give her update to the nation on the latest situation in the country at around noon today.

After giving her update on the lockdown level and what parts of the economy will be allowed to open for the first time in months she will take questions from journalists.

The FM will only take questions on covid due to the Scottish election.

Where can I watch?

The Scottish Government coronavirus will be available to watch on the Daily Record Facebook page from noon today.

It will also be available to view on BBC One Scotland and the BBC Scotland channel where they will have a special news special show on it.
