What time is Matt Hancock's statement today and what will he say?

Health Secretary Matt Hancock is to make a statement on coronavirus in the House of Commons today.

The announcement comes on the day the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine was rolled out across the country - with the first doses injected at 6.45am.

The Parliamentary schedule for today says Health Secretary Matt Hancock is to respond to an urgent question from Labour on the Covid-19 vaccine rollout.

Mr Hancock was due to submit a written statement on the vaccine.

It is expected he will discuss the success of the vaccine roll-out, the need to maintain current coronavirus restriction rules and what happens next as millions more doses are now on their way.

He has also said there are 'five contingency plans' for maintaining the supply of the vaccine in case of disruption - including in case of a no-deal Brexit.

The statement will begin at around 12.30pm.
