What time is Mark Drakeford speaking today as new lockdown rules start?

Mark Drakeford is set to hold another press conference in Wales on Monday, November 9 as the two-week fire-break comes to end.

The "short, sharp" circuit-breaker came into force on Friday, October 23. As it finishes the Welsh Government will implement a set of new national rules.

The First Minister wants to reduce the risk of needing another fire-break so has outlined new simple measures for everyone to follow "which are designed to slow the spread of coronavirus through our communities".

You can read all about the big changes in the rules coming into force on Monday, November 9 here. They cover the number of people you can socialise with, as well as where you can go on holiday and who you can exercise with.

Not all are different from the fire-break lockdown, for example, the requirement to wear a mask in indoor public places and to social distance stays the same.

In addition to the new lockdown rules, which have been published on the Welsh Government website, Mark Drakeford is expected to hold another press conference today.

The First Minister will address the nation at 12:15pm, he will provide an update on the latest coronavirus situation in Wales.

You can watch it live on the Welsh Government social media pages.

Mark Drakeford said: "We all need to think about our own lives and what we can all do to keep our families safe. We need to stop thinking about the maximum limit of rules and regulations.

"Coronavirus is a highly infectious virus, it thrives on contact between people. To keep each other safe we need to reduce the number of people we have contact with and the amount of time we spend with them.

"There will be a new set of national measures from today, which will follow up all the hard work and sacrifices which have been made during the firebreak.

"We cannot go back to the way we were living our lives and throw away all that hard work."
