What time is Love Island on tonight? Popular ITV series makes 2023 return

While it only feels like the last season of Love Island finished yesterday, the popular ITV staple makes a grand return with a twist tonight (January 16).

Fronted by new host Maya Jama, a group of singletons looking for love will jump into the brand-new Villa in South Africa's Cape Town - with hopes of claiming a tidy £50,000 when all is said and done.

It's also only the second time that the widely-watched reality TV Goliath has taken place in the winter - once before in 2020 prior to the global Coronavirus pandemic - with all prior summer seasons usually being shot over the course of the summer in Majorca, Spain.

But what time does Love Island 2023 premiere? What days will it be shown? And when does the exciting winter season come to a close?

Here, Chronicle Live explains all you need to know.

What time does Love Island kick off tonight?

Love Island 2023 premieres at 9.00pm tonight on ITV2.

For those who miss the opening episode due to other commitments, it can be watched later on the broadcaster's official online platform, ITVX.

What days can I watch Love Island?

In a similar fashion to previous seasons of the dating show, episodes will screen every day minus Saturday - when an 'Unseen Bits' episode will air during the evening.

Spin-off show After Sun will also be broadcast directly after Love Island's showing each Sunday night on ITV2 at 10.00pm.

When does the season finish?

Love Island's winter season is expected to run for the same eight-week period as the summer series, which means that it'll be shown on TV over the course of the next two months.

This also means that viewers can expect the grand finale to come mid-March, with one lucky couple looking for love will be crowned the coveted winners of the show.
