The Republic of Ireland have yet another shot at redemption this Friday as they travel to Denmark with cautious optimism for the crunch Euro 2020 qualifier.
Mick McCarthy's men currently hold a 100% record after the opening two games thanks to 1-0 wins over both Gibraltar and Georgia in March, but newly-found bitter rivals Denmark are up next as they renew tensions that stem back to November 2017's World Cup Qualification playoff when Denmark put five past the Boys in Green at the Aviva Stadium.
The two sides met twice in the Uefa Nations League last year, with both games ending scoreless as Ireland failed to give the Danish any problems at all in both games.
Perhaps Christian Eriksen's extended leave and lack of training time with Denmark could play into Ireland's hands as McCarthy looks to leave Copenhagen with a win this week.
