What time is Jeane Freeman's coronavirus vaccine announcement today and how to watch it

Jeane Freeman will be making a statement on the delivery of the coronavirus vaccine in Scotland later today.

The Health Secretary will address MSPs at Holyrood following yesterday’s breakthrough news on the potential cure for Covid-19.

Pfizer and BioNTech’s vaccine was approved by the medicines regulator to be rolled out in the UK, paving the way for mass vaccinations to begin.

Nicola Sturgeon confirmed that the first vaccines will be available in Scotland from December 8.

Scottish Government officials have indicated that it is following “independent scientific and clinical advice” from the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) on the delivery on the vaccine.

The committee yesterday published a list of people who are expected to get the vaccine using the first wave in Scotland.

Frontline health workers and elderly Scots are among those recommended to be vaccinated first.

Studies have already shown that the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine is 95 percent effective and works in older people.
