The long night is over for fans of Game of Thrones.

The eighth and final season of the hit HBO drama returned in the early hours of this morning, with the first episode airing on Sky Atlantic at 2am. 

UK fans who didn't stay up to watch will spend today dodging spoilers, as the next opportunity to watch Game of Thrones season 8 episode 1 doesn't come until this evening.

Whether you're watching alone or attending a Game of Thrones party to mark the beginning of the end, here's everything you need to know ahead of tonight.

What time is Game of Thrones on tonight?

Game of Thrones will be on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV at 9pm this evening. If you don't have a subscription to either of these TV packages, now's the time to quickly befriend someone who does!

How long are the Game of Thrones episodes?

While there are only six episodes in season 8 of Game of Thrones, you can take some consolation in the fact that they're almost feature-length.

Tonight's episode is the shortest in the season at 54 minutes, while next week's episode will be 58 minutes long.

The last two episodes in the series will both be 80 minutes.

When does Game of Thrones end?

The final episode of Game of Thrones will air on 19 May.
