France v England rounds off the opening round of the 2020 Six Nations Championship today, with the Rugby World Cup finalists travelling to Paris for their opener.

Here's everything you need to know about today's game.

What's the team news?

France back-rower Charles Ollivon leads the hosts out while explosive young half-back pairing Antoine Dupont and Romain Ntamack both start for Les Bleus, with Gaël Fickou and Virimi Vakatawa in the centre berths.

England debutant George Furbank has been thrust into the starting XV for today's clash against Les Bleus, with Eddie Jones being forced to make a big call over the Northampton full-back in light of Anthony Watson's injury.

The 23-year-old's inclusion means Elliot Daly shifts from full-back to wing, with Jonny May on the other flank.

Mako Vunipola misses out after an eye injury earlier this week, so Joe Marler starts at loosehead prop as one of three changes in personnel to the side toppled 32-12 by the Springboks in Yokohama last autumn.

France: Anthony Bouthier; Teddy Thomas, Virimi Vakatawa, Gaël Fickou, Damian Penaud; Romain Ntamack, Antoine Dupont; Cyril Baille, Julien Marchand, Mohamed Haouas, Bernard Le Roux, Paul Willemse, Francois Cros, Charles Ollivon (captain), Gregory Alldritt.

Replacements: Peato Mauvaka, Jefferson Poirot, Demba Bamba, Boris Palu, Cameron Woki, Baptiste Serin, Matthieu Jalibert, Vincent Rattez.

Who's the man in the middle?

It's Wales' very own Nigel Owens, who makes his 98th Test appearance today.

England boss Eddie Jones caused a stir by appearing to make a shock dig at Owens in the build-up to the match, speaking out about how difficult he thought it would be for England to win the clash.

Jones, speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live's  Rugby Union Weekly podcast, made a point of bringing up Owens, saying: "France are always a good team, we know there is the massive influence being at home.

"The referee we've got in the first game has got a 91 per cent winning record for home teams.

"That shows you how hard it is to win.

"We're going to have to play exceptionally well to win that game and that's a great challenge for us because we're going to have to manage the referee."

The refereeing great has admitted in his WalesOnline column that today's match could be his final Six Nations fixture as a ref. You can read the full piece here.

What have the coaches said?

France coach Fabien Galthié:  “Expect a ferocious pack. Expect a ferocious battle to win the ball.

“Expect my players to stand their ground with ferocious tackles and collisions. They will play with passion and go beyond their limits.

“A successful Championship is a Championship that is won. The fact we’re playing England first means we will have to immediately match their very high standards of rugby.

“We have been studying their players and their recent matches so we can raise our level very quickly to face them in Round 1 at the Stade de France.”

England head coach Eddie Jones:  “It has been a massively exciting week for us. It is the start of the Guinness Six Nations, the best rugby tournament in the world. We have had a great preparation in Portugal with a quality training week this week.

“France can expect absolute brutality from England. We are going to go out there to make sure they understand what Test rugby is.

“It is about being brutal, it is about being physical and it is about dominating the set-piece. We have picked a strong forward pack which is part of the England way and an exciting backline with young George Furbank playing his first Test at full-back.”
