What time is Derry Girls on TV tonight and how many episodes in series three are there?

The Derry Girls return to Channel 4 tonight with the third and sadly final series of the hit sitcom set in Northern Ireland during the 1990s. Get ready for more hysterical antics as the five friends make their highly-anticipated comeback.

It's been three years since the iconic Derry Girls were last causing trouble on our screens but now, the gang are back and Erin (Saoirse-Monica Jackson), Orla (Louisa Harland), Clare (Nicola Coughlan), Michelle (Jamie-Lee O'Donnell) and James (Dylan Llewellyn) are edging ever nearer to adulthood but it wouldn't be the Derry Girls if they weren't up to their usual tricks and mischief together - and this latest series promises plenty more of that.

The award-winning sitcom from Lisa McGee will also see Siobhan McSweeney return as the sarcastic Sister Michael, Tara Lynne O'Neill as Erin's Ma Mary, Tommy Tiernan as Erin's long-suffering Da Gerry, Ian McElhinney as Granda Joe and Kathy Kiera Clarke as Aunt Sarah.

What time is Derry Girls on TV tonight?

The first episode of Derry Girls series three airs on Tuesday, April 12 from 9.15pm on Channel 4. The first instalment will pick up the night before the gang are due to receive their GCSE results and they're planning what to do if their results don't go their way. Meanwhile a new member of the Quinn household is causing chaos in the neighbourhood.

How many episodes of Derry Girls series three are there?

As with the previous two series, there are six 30-minute episodes in the third series of Derry Girls. The sitcom will then be broadcast weekly, with a new episode airing on Tuesday's from 9.15pm for the next five weeks with the finale currently scheduled to air on May 17.
