What time is Boris Johnson speaking today on coronavirus national lockdown reports

Boris Johnson is making a speech today after reports of a national lockdown for England.

The Times reported on Saturday that the country will have a second national lockdown imposed following one in the spring.

It said non-essential shops would once again shut with only educational settings remaining open.

It comes after scientists warned it was “possible” that there would be 85,000 coronavirus deaths this winter – more than there were in the first wave.

Boris Johnson has brought forward his press conference to Saturday afternoon, where he will be appearing alongside Chris Whitty and Patrick Vallance at 5pm.

UPDATE: The press conference has been delayed to 6.30pm.
