What is the latest team news?

Blues boss Lee Bowyer has no fresh concerns ahead of the visit of the Swans, but could yet make changes to the side that was beaten 3-0 by Watford before the international break.

Mikel San Jose and Ivan Sanchez are among those that could be given an opportunity as Bowyer looks to get his side's bid for Championship survival back on track.

Meanwhile, Steve Cooper has several injury concerns. Andre Ayew picked up a knock while in action for Ghana but could yet be in contention for the trip to St Andrew's.

Conor Hourihane could also be fit, with Cooper revealing that the forward's suspected hamstring injury picked up during the 1-0 defeat to Cardiff City, is not as bad as first feared.

Marc Guehi could well take his place in the starting line-up after sitting out England's under-21s' clash with Croatia on Wednesday.

Paul Arriola has returned to DC United after having his loan cancelled, while Liam Cullen (ankle) and Tivonge Rushesha (ACL) and Steve Benda (ankle) all remain long-term absentees.

What have the managers said?

Birmingham City boss Lee Bowyer: "I don’t think you will see much different from the Reading or Watford games. I thought in both games we did well. Even though we didn’t get the result we wanted at Watford they are the best side in the league in my eyes and we went to their ground, competed to a high level and on the day I think we created more chances than them.

"To do that against a top side I don’t think you are doing too much wrong except the final bit. Working on finishing, the basic things and the players to be fair have taken it all on board.

"They know what is expected of them, they know what they have to do and we are ready for these last eight games."

Swansea City boss Steve Cooper: "Our next two games are going to be against new management.

"We’ve got to manage that ourselves. New managers coming in does have a bounce and that’s going to be part of the challenge on Friday. They’re an experienced team. In the two games [under him], they had a good result against Reading."
