What time is Andy Murray on today at Wimbledon as home favourite faces Denis Shapovalov

There's nothing quite like when Andy Murray goes into battle Wimbledon with the nation behind him.

But this is a campaign unlike any other at SW19. He's competing in the singles competition for the first time since he was forced to limp out at the quarter-final stage in 2017.

Even in his best days Murray liked to make us sweat, and the first two rounds have seen him go to four and then five sets, cheered on by a partisan Wimbledon crowd.

The likes of Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic lurk later in the draw but it's too early to think about that with a tough third round tie ahead.

Here's everything you need to know as we cheer on the two-time champion.

Who is he playing?

Murray faces his toughest test so far as he takes on 22-year-old Canadian Denis Shapovalov.

The youngster is ranked number 15 in the world and he's already shown he can cut it at the All England Club, winning the Juniors title in 2016.

Shapovalov is the 10th seed and is a left-hander, which can often present an issue for the predominantly right-handed players on Tour.

What time is he on?

Murray has been handed Friday's prime-time slot — third up on Centre Court.

Determining an exact time is difficult as it's dependent on when the matches scheduled beforehand finish.

Ordinarily though we'd be looking at around a 6pm start.

Where can I watch it?

The match will be live on BBC One or BBC Two. Provided you have a TV licence you can also watch live on iPlayer.

Who would he play next?

The winner of this one will face either Dominik Koepfler or Roberto Bautista Agut.

The Spaniard will be favourite for that one, he's ranked 10 in the world and reached the semi-finals at the All England Club last time out.
