It's transfer deadline day, but not quite as we know it.
As well as the financial reality looking very different for a number of clubs amid the ongoing pandemic, this season, there will actually be two different deadlines for clubs.
While most Premier League clubs will be looking to get the bulk of their business done today, EFL clubs like Swansea City and Cardiff City can still make domestic signings of players in any decision up until October 16.
Here's what's going on.
When does the first transfer window shut?
All Premier League clubs will have to conduct any international business by 11pm on Monday, October 5.
That is the same for EFL clubs too, who can't sign anyone from abroad after Monday's cut-off.
Premier League clubs will also be unable to trade directly with one another.
Players could still be sold abroad after this deadline, permitting that league's transfer window remains open.
When is the second transfer window closed?
The second transfer window closes 11 days later by 5pm on Friday, October 16.
What business can clubs conduct during the second window?
Clubs from the Premier League can sign players from the EFL and visa versa up until the second transfer window closes.
So, hypothetically, there is still plenty of time someone like Wales international David Brooks to join a Premier League club, with Man Utd and Leicester City said to be interested.
Equally, EFL clubs can still trade amongst themselves, unlike Premier League clubs, with no restriction on transfers within the same division.
