What time does the Preakness Stakes start?

The second leg of horse racing’s Triple Crown will be held Saturday evening at Pimlico Race Course, but Kentucky Derby winner Country House will not be in the field of 13 horses breaking from the gates.

Country House and Maximum Security were not entered into the 2019 Preakness Stakes following the controversial ending at Churchill Downs, though Maximum Security owner Gary West has laid down a $20 million challenge to several horses who benefited from the historic disqualification.

Bob Baffert’s Improbable is the race-day betting favorite at 5-2. You can see the full list of post positions and odds here.

Post time for the 2019 Preakness Stakes is 6:48 p.m. ET. You can watch the race on NBC, or stream it online via NBC Sports Live or the NBC Sports app.

Pre-race coverage will begin at 5:00 p.m. ET on NBC.
