The Oscars itself will take place on Sunday, March 27 this year - originally, it was supposed to take place on February 27 but was pushed back for reasons not yet disclosed.

Those qualifying for the prestigious awards must have been involved in films released between March 1, 2021 and December 31, 2021.

This means big names such as Lady Gaga, Kristen Stewart, Guillermo Del Toro and Benedict Cumberbatch could be nominated for their respective Oscar award.

Some films expected to be included in this year's nominations include Jane Campion's The Power of the Dog, Denis Villeneuve's Dune and Steven Spielberg's West Side Story.

How to watch the Oscars?

The Oscars will be available to stream online via YouTube and Twitter on the official Oscar accounts.

Fans can also watch the live stream directly from the Academy's website and Facebook page.
