What time and when are the Welsh Parliament election results due?

Voters in Wales are taking part in the Senedd and Police and Crime Commissioner elections on Thursday.

The elections will see 60 people chosen to represent the Senedd with 40 working in constituencies and the remaining 20 representing Wales' four regions. Votes are also being case for the four police and crime commissioners.

The count is being delayed as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

Usually, it would commence as soon as the polling stations shut at 10pm.

But not this year - the vote count begins from Friday morning.

The Electoral Commission, which oversees elections, is keeping its staff in smaller groups, with face coverings, to ensure they are coronavirus compliant.

The counting will not begin until 9am on Friday - 11 hours later than pre-pandemic times.

The first results are expected on Friday afternoon.

If the counts are not concluded, they will be adjourned and will resume again on Saturday morning.

Counting for the police and crime commissioners is not until Sunday.
