What time and TV channel is the Conor McGregor v Dustin Poirier press conference on today?

Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier will come face to face this afternoon ahead of their rematch at UFC 257.

The Dubliner knocked the American out in the first round of their 2014 bout and McGregor is predicting another quick finish this weekend.

But a lot has changed since that fight and Poirier has enjoyed plenty of success since moving up to lightweight.

The build-up to this bout has been a lot calmer than previous McGregor fights so there might not be the usual fireworks at the pre-fight press conference.

Nonetheless, it should still be entertaining. Here's everything you need to know:

Where and when is it?

The press conference takes place on Fight Island in Abu Dhabi on Thursday, January 21.

What time does it start at?

The presser is due to start at 1pm Irish time, but McGregor has arrived late to plenty of these over the years.

Who will be in attendance?

  • Dana White, UFC President
  • Dustin Poirier, No. 2 UFC lightweight
  • Conor McGregor, No. 4 UFC lightweight
  • Dan Hooker, No. 6 UFC lightweight
  • Michael Chandler, UFC lightweight

What channel is it on?

The press conference is not being televised live, but you can watch it in the video below:

Conor McGregor: "I'm not surprised [the belt is not on the line] but feel it should be for the title.

"I'm not surprised and not disappointed, it is what it is. The way the year went I don't think I was going to walk straight in to a title shot.

"I'm happy to be back and I look forward to getting in there and competing.

"I was stripped of the featherweight belt before even getting an offer of a featherweight fight and I barely got the second belt in the Octagon in New York that time.

"With the death of [Khabib's] father they've given him time and that's admirable also. The time is now though, it's well past, and it should be for the belt but if not, no problem."

Dustin Poirier: "If you’re talking about game planning, what I want for us to both be dripping blood and hurting and suffering early in the fight.

"Then we can find out who’s a real fighter. That’s what I want. I want to be bleeding with a minute off the first round clock.

"I want both of us to be bleeding and really have to dig down and see who’s the better fighter. See who really wants to be in there.

“Because I don’t have a safety net. I want to be in there, and I know that, and I’d like to find out if he does. And that’s uncomfortable.

"I’m not looking forward to getting busted open but if we can get to that point where both of us are tired and bleeding, then we can see who has more grit and more want, and I think I win that fight ten out of ten times."
