Quotes corner

Ireland manager Stephen Kenny: “I'm disappointed as a manager that we’ve not won a game yet.

“We played very, very well in Serbia and completely differently than Irish teams would have done in the last decade away from home against good nations.

“We have to try and turn those performances into winning performances because I don’t want plaudits for losing games.”

Luxembourg manager Luc Holtz: “We know that we have made a lot of progress in recent years, so the confidence is OK, but we have great respect for the Irish team. We have respect, but we have no fear.

“We have to work hard – every match, we have to work hard – and the solidarity of the team is the key for success.”
