What time and TV channel is Boris Johnson's speech on coronavirus lockdown tonight? - and what to look out for

The highly anticipated speech from Boris Johnson will take place tonight and he is likely to address his plans to ease certain lockdown restrictions.

While ministers have been tight-lipped about just what exactly they are going to announce, The Prime Minister has confirmed that he will be proceeding with "maximum caution" when relaxing any restrictions.

Mr Johnson's address will be broadcast this evening and is due to start at around 7 pm. It is expected to last around 10 minutes and will be broadcast on most major TV channels including BBC one.

The broadcast is also expected to air on ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5 and Sky News

The theme of the highly anticipated speech has been referred to as a "roadmap" as it is likely to be a discussion of plans to relax certain measures.

The coronavirus lockdown was extended by law on Thursday for another three weeks and it is unlikely ministers will announce any change to this.

Nicola Sturgeon will also be addressing Scotland in a separate briefing at 3 pm today, taking place on BBC Scotland.

It is likely that the First Minister will address how Scotland plans to work with any changes discussed by the Prime Minister tonight.
