What time and channel is Ireland v Scotland? TV information, team news, betting odds and more for the World Cup opener

Ireland and Scotland will face off in their World Cup opener this weekend, and it is expected to go ahead even if there is torrential rain in Yokohama on Sunday.

Joe Schmidt's men were forced to call off a press event at their training ground on Monday due to the poor weather.

And with an inch of rain forecast for Sunday, it's looking like the game could be in jeopardy, although Ireland scrum coach Greg Feek has played down concerns.

If the game is cancelled, both teams will be given a point for a draw and it will not be re-scheduled.

Here's everything you need to know ahead of the big game:

Joe Schmidt is not yet ruling Rob Kearney out of Ireland's World Cup opener against Scotland, with Ireland press officer David O'Suiochain telling the media: "There was a bit of a flurry last night about Rob Kearney.

"He's got a bit of tightness in his calf.

"That's going to be managed today. There's no training today, it's a down day and it's hoped that he will be out running on Wednesday, so we'll be able to update again on Wednesday how he's going.

"The plan is hopefully that he'll do a bit of running, that it will ease up and if not Wednesday, he'll have a run on Friday.

"Today and Thursday are down days, we train Wednesday, we train Friday at Yokohama Stadium and then Saturday we can't get into the stadium with the game on (New Zealand v South Africa) so there's no official captain's run."
