What Tim Krul said to Mesut Ozil after controversial penalty in Arsenal's draw with Norwich City

Norwich City goalkeeper told Mesut Ozil his Arsenal side got “lucky” during their 2-2 draw at Carrow Road.

The Gunners began life under interim head coach Freddie Ljungberg following the sacking of Unai Emery by coming from behind twice to earn a point.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang struck twice after Teemu Pukki and Todd Cantwell had both put the Canaries in front.

The Gabon striker’s first came from the penalty spot after VAR ordered a retake, due to players encroaching as Krul saved the original effort.

Aubameyang managed to beat the Dutchman second time around, leading to Krul seemingly clashing with Ozil as the Arsenal players celebrated.

But the goalkeeper played down the incident in his post-match interview with Sky Sports, although he felt the Gunners received a helping hand in their comeback.

"It was a shame to concede a penalty like that,” Krul said. “We were so solid the whole game through.

"Listen, for me the job is to get in the striker's head. I feel especially at home I took a bit longer than the referee liked and he rightly booked me.

"I just said to Ozil when he was celebrating that they were lucky because the referee helped them out there.”
