What tier am I in? Postcode checker on coronavirus restrictions where you live

The Government has announced what tiers England’s regions will be in when lockdown ends on December 2.

The local restrictions will be rolled out across the country next week and are categorised as ‘medium’, ‘high’, and ‘very high’.

People across the country can find out what Tier their area is in by using a simple postcode checker on the Government’s website.

What the tiers mean

  • Tier one, or medium, will see restrictions stay at the previous level across the country.

  • Tier two, or high, will ban people from two households mixing indoors.

  • Tier three, or very high, will see pubs and bars forced to close.

Matt Hancock announced what tiers areas would fall into this morning.

Rishi Sunak says people will “see a difference” when England’s national lockdown ends next week on December 2.

The Chancellor told Sky News: “Whichever tier you’re in I think people will see a tangible change.

“That said, things are obviously not normal and I can’t pretend that next week things are going to feel like they were before the spring.”

Mr Sunak also confirmed that the Prime Minister Boris Johnson will lead a press conference in Downing Street later on Thursday.
