What Tier 4 restrictions mean for tips in Nottinghamshire

With Christmas now done and dusted, you may have a lot of leftover rubbish that has built up and needs taking to the tip.

All of Nottinghamshire was placed into Tier 4 Covid restrictions just before the new year in a bid to slow the rate of the virus spreading this winter.

It means a number of businesses have been forced to close their doors again, including 'non-essential' retail and beauty services.

Recycling centres across the county have stayed open during the restrictions and the same goes for Tier 4.

Nottinghamshire County Council tweeted recently: "All our recycling centres for household waste currently remain open (8am - 4pm daily).

"However, as Notts is now in Tier 4 we encourage residents to follow the Government’s ‘stay at home’ advice and only visit the sites if it is essential."

Nottingham's waste and recycling centre in Lenton is also open.

All sites will be operating strict social distancing measures and delays are likely, the county council added.

People wanting to use the county's tips need to be a resident of Nottinghamshire (excluding Nottingham City) and have registered a vehicle to use the sites.
