What Thomas Tuchel has said about Eden Hazard amid Chelsea and Newcastle transfer links

Newcastle United and Chelsea are both reportedly interested in a move for Real Madrid winger Eden Hazard and now Thomas Tuchel has had his say.

El Chiringuito, per Daily Express, say Newcastle are reportedly looking to make Hazard a key player in their new project following the completion of the takeover earlier this month.

And if reports from El Nacional are to be believed, Madrid would be open to allowing the Belgium international leave the club due to his struggles since moving to the Bernabeu.

Hazard has made just 38 league appearances in two seasons following his £89million move as he struggles to regain his full match fitness due to a string of injury issues.

His lack of match action has also coincided with a drop off in form, scoring just five goals in all competitions, a major drop off in the numbers he was producing at Stamford Bridge on a consistent basis.

But despite his loss of form in Spain, Hazard is still regarded as one of the most dangerous attackers in Europe given the consistency he produced in England.

Current Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel lauded the talent of Hazard when asked about his future in Madrid prior to the Blues’ Champions League semi-final clash with Los Blancos in May.

Via Football London, he said: "He is a top quality player and a key player for many years at this club and this league, the hardest in the world.

"So consistent. I have the biggest respect for him. He is a big player, we have many people here who know him well. He was a key player for this club. Now he plays for Real Madrid."
