What Thierry Henry said about Tottenham that Arsenal fans will love

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has admitted he would never consider coaching Tottenham Hotspur.

Henry spent eight years as a player with the Gunners before departing for Barcelona in the summer of 2007.

The Frenchman clinched two Premier League titles and two FA Cup trophies, becoming the club's all-time top goalscorer in the process before a brief return on loan in 2012.

Since retiring, the prolific goalscorer has turned to coaching, managing French side Monaco before spending 15 months as the boss of MLS outfit CF Montreal.

Now, Henry is Roberto Martinez's assistant coach with the Belgium national team and the former Gunner claimed that he could never turn to the managerial dugout of Arsenal's local rivals Spurs.

When asked if he would ever consider managing Tottenham, he told the Prime Video Presents Sport 2021 event: "That would never happen in a million years."

Henry is a Prime Video pundit for their December Premier League fixtures and was joined on-stage by Patrice Evra to preview Arsenal's forthcoming match against Manchester United, admitting that it will be a tough task to win at Old Trafford for the second year in a row.

"United have been better than us but you never know what can happen," he added.

"It took us 14 years to win there again last season but even in my time, it was difficult to win there.

"United now have, in Ronaldo, someone who can turn their problems into solutions and they have a good squad."

The Gunners defeated Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side 1-0 last season thanks to a penalty from club-captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, their first away win in the league against United since the 2006/07 campaign.

Mikel Arteta will be hoping to gain some momentum before Arsenal's trip to face the Red Devils, with the north Londoners hosting Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium on Monday night.
