What they’re saying following Chargers’ win over Chiefs

Chargers kicked off division play on Sunday with a 30-24 win over the Chiefs.

Highlighted by quarterback Justin Herbert’s four touchdowns and the defense’s four turnover, Los Angeles pushed Kansas City to 1-2 and last place in the AFC West.

With that said, national football analysts shared some of their thoughts on the game, and I have compiled some of the best reactions below.

FS1’s Colin Cowherd

“Justin Herbert is a special player. And now, they have protection. They have weapons. I don’t think what you saw today was a fluke. Patrick Mahomes for the next decade is going to be in shootouts with Justin Herbert, and he’s going to lose a lot of them.”

Fox Sports’ Emmanuel Acho

“The best team in the division (AFC West) is the Los Angeles Chargers.”

NFL Media’s Kyle Brandt

“It was nuts. But they won in Arrowhead, and I can’t second guess anything they did. They’re a little crazy, and I don’t know if it’s always going to work for them. But Justin Herbert is a star and Brandon Staley is a gangster.”

NFL Media’s Peter Schrager

To go for it on 4th and 9–in their building, after the false start, and after how they lost last year to the Chiefs last year in Herbert’s debut–it was a statement by Brandon Staley. That statement was, ‘We’re not going anywhere.'”

Undisputed’s Skip Bayless

“Justin Herbert just outplayed Mahomes in the wind at KC – and my Cowboys beat him at SoFine Stadium last Sunday.”

ESPN’s Mike Greenberg

“Biggest win of Justin Herbert’s career. There are gonna be much bigger ones to come.”

Sports Net’s Satiar Shah

“If someone is just getting into the NFL and wants to find a team to support pick Justin Herbert’s Chargers.”
