What the weather will be like for Llanelli's Christmas Carnival

The countdown is on with just days to go until Llanelli 's biggest night of the year.

Every year, thousands of people line the streets to watch the Christmas lights being switched on as the festive floats arrive in the town centre.

This year will be no different as the highly anticipated parade returns on Friday, November 22 .

If you're going along, it's probably best to take an umbrella with you as rain is forecast in the late afternoon and into the evening.

Oli Claydon, of the Met Office , said: "The temperature will see highs of nine degrees on Friday.

"It will be a dry and potentially bright start to the day, with the odd shower still around in the morning.

"There will be periods of brightness but then an increasing amount of cloud building up through the afternoon.

"Bands of rain will be arriving in the evening but they could pull back before returning on Saturday.

"To summarise, there will be a dry and bright start to the day with the odd shower in the morning and then there will be a chance of rain later in the day."

This is how Swansea Christmas Parade looked last week:

An outdoor market will be open from 9am in Stepney Street, offering everything from hot food to festive gifts.

Funfair rides in Spring Gardens will be open from 4pm and there will be plenty of live entertainment throughout the day in the build-up to the parade.

The parade route will begin at Festival Fields before making its way along Church Street and past the town hall.
