What the weather is looking like for the week ahead in Nottinghamshire

Heavy rain is expected to arrive in Nottinghamshire this Thursday with a 'yellow warning' alert in place.

However the Met Office has predicted that the only day this week to suffer bad weather conditions will be Thursday.

The rest of the week is looking far more mild, with even some sunshine expected.

Heavy rain battered the region last week, with homes in Worksop and Mansfield having to be evacuated.

Fire-fighters had to rescue residents from their homes in Worksop, with some stuck in sewage and rainwater up to their chests. Fifty worked through Thursday night and Friday morning to evacuate 25 homes after the area was hit with heavy rainfall and the River Ryton reached potentially dangerous levels.

In Mansfield, residents living near the former quarry in Bank End Close were also forced to leave their homes after heavy rainfall created a mudslide.

The latest weather warning for rain is all day on Thursday, November 14 and covers most of Nottinghamshire.

The  Met Office has said: "There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings. There is a small chance of fast flowing or deep floodwater causing danger to life."

This is how the week is looking@

Monday:

Light rain changing to cloudy by late morning.

Tuesday:

Light rain changing to sunny intervals this afternoon by 2pm to 4pm.

Wednesday:

Clear, changing to cloudy by lunchtime. However, there is a 60 percent chance of rain by 9pm.
