What the top of the Championship table looks like after Nottingham Forest v Swansea City and Brentford v Preston results

Cardiff City are now in a strong position to secure a Championship play-off spot with two games to go after rivals Swansea twice threw away a lead to draw 2-2 at Nottingham Forest.

It also means Cardiff are now just three points behind fifth-paced Forest after their win over Derby County on Tuesday night.

The Swans are now three points adrift of the Bluebirds in eighth on 64 points.

Brentford's 1-0 win over Preston means they have closed to within a point of West Brom in the second automatic promotion spot, while that result all but rules Preston out of the play-off picture with just two games left.

Cardiff travel to Middlesbrough on Saturday to face former boss Neil Warnock, while Swansea host Bristol City in a match they must win to have any hope.

Seventh-placed Millwall, who are two points behind Cardiff, travel to QPR.
