What the Reuben Foster fine means financially for Redskins

Friday, the Washington Redskins learned linebacker Reuben Foster wouldn’t be suspended and can immediately come off the commissioner’s exempt list.

That said, Foster did get hit with a fine of two game checks that he won’t appeal.

According to Spotrac, the two game checks equate to $151,340 of his salary, which started at $1.2 million. The nature of his rookie deal originally signed with the San Francisco 49ers will then pay him about $1.6 million next season before he heads for free agency in 2021.

Bruce Allen and the Redskins have placed a strict conduct policy on Foster moving forward, so more of his salary and potential future earnings — if not his job outright — is at stake if he ends up in hot water again.
