What the pundits are predicting for Chelsea's Premier League clash with Burnley

Chelsea were far from their best against Slavia Prague on Thursday night, but managed to seal a spot in the Europa League semi-finals nevertheless.

That leaves two avenues to the Champions League next season available for Maurizio Sarri’s side and attention turns back to the Premier League on Monday, as the Blues look to secure a top-four finish.

Defeat to Liverpool last weekend issued a blow to the Blues and they will be desperate to return to winning ways domestically when they host Burnley at Stamford Bridge on Monday in a fixture that was won by the visitors last season.

However, Chelsea will not encounter similar problems this time out, according to a trio of pundits, as they have all tipped the Blues to ease past their Lancashire opponents.

You can see what they had to say below.

What Chelsea's players have said after beating Slavia Prague to reach Europa League semi-finals

Mark Lawrenson (2-0 Chelsea) - BBC

Chelsea are fighting for a top-four place and with Eden Hazard on form they have got a chance.

Burnley have got 39 points and they are safe, or as good as safe anyway so they do not have much to play for.

They won at Stamford Bridge on the opening day of last season, but I can't see a repeat of that result this time.

Maurizio Sarri hints at the 'wonderful' striker the Chelsea boss has been keeping his eye on

Michael Owen (Chelsea win) - BetVictor

Chelsea have lost just one of their last 20 home league games, but the Clarets have won their last three and I feel they will give the Blues plenty to think about at Stamford Bridge on Monday.

Chelsea were in Europa League action on Thursday and they have two strings to their Champions League bow given they held a lead from the first leg in Prague. Burnley won the corresponding fixture last season, but I expect to see an Eden Hazard inspired Chelsea keep the points.

Supercomputer predicts Premier League results - and it is bad news for Man United and Tottenham

Paul Merson (3-0 Chelsea) - Sky Sports

It sounds like a walk in the park for Chelsea this but it will be hard. I just don't see how you stop [Eden] Hazard in the form he is in.

Someone has to tell Maurizio Sarri that they cannot play with a false nine, and I don't think he will against a Burnley side that are unlikely to come to Stamford Bridge and really have a go at Chelsea.

Their hard work is done this season.
