What the pundits are predicting for Arsenal's Europa League clash against Standard Liege

Arsenal return to European action this evening (Thursday) as they face Standard Liege in the Europa League.

After a comfortable win over Eintracht Frankfurt on matchday one, Unai Emery's side have beaten Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest as well as drawing with Manchester United since that win in Germany two weeks ago, and Arsenal come into the game at the Emirates top of Group F.

While their visitors to north London, Standard Liege, come into the game on the back of a 1-1 draw with Sporting du Pays de Charleroi at the weekend, a result which brought an end to a four-game winning run, which included a 1-0 victory over Vitória S.C. in their opening group game.

But pundits are united on who will come out on top at the Emirates.

Charlie Nicholas - Sky Sports - 3-0 Arsenal

This is another game to use the young talent. I would not expect Standard Liege to be great travellers, but they will try to counter-attack. When the Arsenal youngsters get a lot of the ball it suits them, that is what they are taught.

Arsenal v Standard Liege: Unai Emery full pre-match press conference

I am expecting a change of goalkeepers and Rob Holding and Hector Bellerin to start. Kieran Tierney didn't play at Old Trafford so he could be involved.

Joe Willock, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli are busting their gut to make a regular claim for the first team, and a convincing win for Arsenal in the Europa League is a good place to start.

Michael Owen - BetVictor - Arsenal win

Standard Liege have never won on the road in European competition against English opposition (L6 D1) and I don’t expect the Belgian side to buck that trend at the Emirates.

Arsenal reached the final of the competition last season and their 3-0 win in Frankfurt on the opening day was one of the performances of the night. The Gunners have won all four previous games against Les Rouches and I see no reason why they will not make it five this week.
