Peter Wilby in The Guardian argues that "the biggest press scandal of our time" is "newspapers' consistent and brazen disregard for the contempt laws." Citing last week's coverage of the alleged kidnap plans by Birmingham-based Muslims, he shows how the sub judice laws are no longer restraining papers from publishing detailed speculation and accusations, obviously leaked by the police. Stephen Glover, in The Independent returns to one of his former themes, that Rupert Murdoch might be losing his touch. Given his "evidence" for this claim I rather think it must be Mr Glover who is losing his. (Via The Guardian and The Independent)
