Despite freezing temperatures and a largely dry forecast, any suggestion that Wales could see snow this week has been firmly dismissed by the Met Office.
There had been previous uncertainty about whether the country would see a sprinkling of snow this week as temperatures dipped to -2°C in parts. However, the Met Office have now said "winterly conditions are unlikely" for Wales as spring approaches with milder temperatures set for the rest of the week.

The good news is that despite the drop in temperature, high pressure over the UK will mean that the upcoming weekend should be "dry and bright".
While much of the country will still be feeling the cold at the start of this week - experiencing temperatures of around 0°C - this will thaw slightly as the week progresses.
Fortunately, the days will be much warmer than the nights with temperatures even reaching highs of 9°C in parts of the country. Wind will return towards the end of the week - albeit nothing like we have seen in recent weeks - as will some rain.
A spokesperson for the Met Office said: "The weather will be unsettled with periods of wind and rain for Wales over the coming days. There will be clear spells for most as well though. Temperatures will be fairly mild, although feeling cold at times in the wind. A southerly air flow means wintry conditions are unlikely."
The Met Office forecast for this week:
Wednesday:
"Staying mostly dry with occasional sunny periods in the east. Cloudier in the west, with rain arriving later. Becoming windy, especially in the west, where coastal gales are possible. Maximum temperature 12 °C.
Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:
"Drizzly in places at first on Thursday, but becoming drier with bright spells developing. Showers or longer spells of rain during Friday and Saturday. Windy at times but staying mild."
UK long range weather forecast
From Saturday March 12 to Monday March 21: "Largely cloudy and mild but breezy on Saturday with outbreaks of rain. The best of any sunshine is expected across the north and northeast. At the start of the next week outbreaks of rain are possible across all areas with the heavier rain towards the west.
"The east should see the best of any dry weather although showers are likely at times. Windy at times with a risk of gales in the west. Temperatures are expected to be mostly near normal to rather mild.
"Through the rest of the period, frontal systems push eastwards which are likely to bring strengthening winds and rain. The main impacts are likely to be from heavy rain and gales during this time."
