Anyone hoping for a white Christmas in Wales will be disappointed, unless they head for the highest ground in the north.
The Met Office said there's 'scant chance' of snow in south Wales but there may be some wintry showers and sub zero temperatures on high ground in Snowdonia.
There will be a north/south divide in the weather for the coming week, including Christmas Day and Boxing Day. In the south it will be unsettled, mild, grey and damp while in the north it will be brighter but colder.

Met Office meteorologist Annie Shuttleworth said temperatures will be average for the time of year.
“There is a lot of uncertainty - we can’t be too exact but we are expecting as we head into Christmas Eve it will be milder and wetter in the south," she said.
“In north Wales cold air moving in from the north will make it brighter but with some wintry showers and brighter.
“We could see a mix of sleet and snow showers, especially over high ground in Snowdonia. There could be some wintry showers on high ground in north Wales over Christmas Day and Boxing Day. That’s fairly typical for the time of year.
“Looking to Christmas Day in the south it will be milder and unsettled.”
Temperatures on Christmas Day are expected to be around 5C for most areas of south Wales and between 3C and minus 2C in the north. The colder weather in the north will also be accompanied by windy conditions.
