What the Chelsea fans chanted at Tottenham amid Harry Kane transfer saga

Harry Kane remains absent from Tottenham's pre-season training amid transfer speculation, football.london understands.

Kane, who has been heavily linked with a big-money switch to Manchester City throughout the summer transfer window, was due to return to the club's Hotspur Way training complex on Monday for a Covid test and the usual bloodwork tests, but was absent.

The 28-year-old striker, who was in the Bahamas on his post-Euro 2020 holiday, is yet to report to Spurs training, which has fuelled speculation over his future in north London.

The England captain conducted an interview with Gary Neville earlier in the summer where he admitted he did not want to end his career with any regrets, which could have been referring to the lack of major honours he has won during his time with Spurs.

Kane was obviously absent for Spurs' 2-2 pre-season friendly draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday evening and the fans in attendance were quick to poke fun at their London rivals.

As noticed by football.london 's Spurs correspondent Alasdair Gold, the Chelsea faithful chanted: "Where the f*** is Harry Kane?" before the match even kicked off in west London.

Tottenham supporters will be hoping the Kane saga is resolved sooner rather than later, with the north London club determined to keep hold of the 2020/21 Premier League Golden Boot winner.

Former Spurs boss Harry Redknapp admitted he was left "surprised" by the striker's no-show.

Redknapp told talkSPORT, via the Mirror : "Unless he has something in writing, unless he has an actual figure, Daniel is probably saying, ‘yes, I will sell you.

"I will stand you by my word if I said I will sell you. But I am not going to sell you cheap.'

"It did [surprise] me, yes, you know him as well as I do. You wouldn’t have expected that.

"I would have thought that he would have just turned up and had a meeting with Daniel again. I am sure his advisors are meeting with Daniel.

"I was a bit surprised. Not the best way to go about it. He is loved at Tottenham."
