What the Celtic pundits said as jubilant Paul Lambert puts Jota pass among best in Europe

Impressive Celtic kept their momentum under Ange Postecoglou as they enjoyed an afternoon stroll against Ferencvaros.

The club earned their first points of the Europa League group stage against the Hungarian champions thanks to a Kyogo Furuhashi strike and a Balint Vecsei own goal.

In truth it could have been much more as Postecoglou made it three wins on the bounce.

Benfica loanee Jota is quickly becoming a Parkhead cult hero after his inch-perfect ball to Kyogo helped open the scoring, and the silky opener dominated the post-match talking points.

Boss Postecoglou was also able to give the likes of Giogios Giakoumakis, who came off the bench to add a different dynamic to the side.

To top it all off, a Joe Hart clean sheet shows the backline after improving after a ropey early season run.

With the return fixture next month, Celtic fans will be hoping for another dominant display to make a strong case for a late surge to the knockout rounds.

The pundits were keen to praise a dominant display from the side.

John Hartson

"It's great for confidence. In a couple of weeks time they are going across to Budapest, and they will go there with great confidence knowing they can comfortably beat this side.

'I said they were no big shakes before the game, and I really fancied Celtic coming into the game.

"And it was just chance, after chance, after chance.

"I think Celtic were just relentless, and they could have had five or six.

"The goal (Kyogo), and the ball from Jota is inch perfect, and Kyogo the way he takes it is unbelievable. The finish is spectacular. This goal, special, special players do it."

Paul Lambert

"They (Ferencvaros) looked short of it. I'm not sure they were happy in that atmosphere, I think they were frightened of it.

"Well done to the Celtic fans coming out for the game.

"There is not too many that can do the finish that Kyogo did, but the pass; I don't think you will see a better pass than that in the European scene all week.

"I thought Celtic's football was excellent."

Chris Sutton

"Kyogo had a quiet game, but when he needed to step up, boy did he.

"What a ball that is from Jota. It's a wonderful ball and the first touch is sensational.

"Some of the play second half has been excellent, especially in the second half.

James McFadden

"Celtic weren't gung-ho, but the intent was always to attack.

"They played it about in the attacking half, and were patient in that way. They were still probing, but they weren't flooding loads of bodies back.

"It's no longer a case that people at the back are looking round saying 'what are you doing?' after a mistake. They are looking and saying 'can I help, can I fix it?'

"That must be a hugely pleasing factor for Celtic. They have guys that are going to help mop up."

Simon Donnelly

"I thought Giakoumakis looked the part. That's the most I've seen him.

"I think eh got himself into good positions and was buying fouls here and there.

"Kyogo doesn't have the physicality, he's got the movement, but this guy has got the physicality."
