What the Browns are getting in Sheldrick Redwine

In the 4th Round, the Cleveland Browns started off Day Three of the 2019 NFL Draft by selecting S Sheldrick Redwine of University of Miami (FL).

Redwine is an interesting developmental prospect as he has the speed (4.44 40 yd dash) and athleticism (39-inch vert., 10-10 broad jump) for the position. He also was originally a cornerback coming out of high school, ranking in the top 75 in the country.

The Draft Network’s Kyle Crabbs in his NFL Draft Prospectus described Redwine as having “a lot of exciting potential and upside to develop into a difference making safety at the next level.” He also said that Redwine’s “consistency is the key to reaching his potential at the next level.”

In his draft guide, The Athletic’s Dane Brugler credited his play speed and instincts flourishing at Safety, while also saying that he needs to “improve his reliability as a tackler on the field.” Brugler also thinks he can make an impact early on special teams.
