What the Ajax fans did to disrupt Tottenham's preparations for Champions League semi-final clash

Some of Tottenham Hotspur's players would have had an interrupted sleep ahead of their big Champions League clash due to the late night antics of a few Ajax fans.

Following their training session at The Johan Cruyff ArenA in Amsterdam the players returned to their hotel in the city to rest up ahead of the following day's semi-final second leg.

Many would have no doubt watched Liverpool's remarkable comeback against Barcelona in the other semi-final before going to sleep.

However, at around 3am a group of Ajax ultras let off fireworks for a couple of minutes outside the four star Van Der Valk Hotel in Amsterdam where they claimed the Tottenham squad were staying.

football.london understands that Spurs officials did hear the commotion, although it is unclear whether it affected the players and if so how many.

UEFA are aware of the incident outside the hotel the night before the big game.

Here is footage of the fireworks going off from the Ajax ultras who claim in their tweet that "the players of Tottenham were shaken up by fireworks at the VD Valk Hotel tonight!".

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping his players weren't too disturbed by the Ajax fans' efforts and it will spark their own comeback on Wednesday night.
