What Son Heung-min said about teammate Davinson Sanchez after South Korea's win over Colombia

Son Heung-min came up against a familiar face on Tuesday as South Korea faced Colombia in an international friendly.

Having played alongside each other week in, week out over the past two seasons, Son and Davinson Sanchez went head-to-head in Seoul with South Korea coming out on top with a 2-1 win.

The Spurs attacker actually opened the scoring for his country in the 17th minute as he escaped the attentions of Sanchez to fire beyond Ivan Arboleda.

The visitors then equalised through Luis Fernando Diaz four minutes after the break, before Lee Jae-sung restored South Korea's lead nine minutes later.

Both will be back at Hotspur Way this week and it's fair to say that Sanchez will be hearing quite a bit about Son's goal over the coming days.

Son was actually quizzed about his Spurs teammate after the game when speaking to AS (via Sport Witness) and he hailed Sanchez for his performances over the course of the campaign for the Lilywhites.

"Davinson… I’m really, really good friends with him," he said. "I’m happy for him, he’s been playing an amazing season.

"Playing for Colombia, I’m happy for him.

"You know, the travelling for your country, it makes me happy, and Davinson as well.

"I’m happy to be playing for South Korea."

Both players will be hoping to be named in Mauricio Pochettino's team this weekend when Premier League football returns with Spurs facing a tricky trip to Liverpool.
