What Sir Kenny Dalglish did after Liverpool thrashed Manchester United

Liverpool legend Sir Kenny Dalglish has joked that him getting a regular trim could be the secret behind a successful season for the Reds.

One of the television highlights for many Kopites from Sunday’s 5-0 victory was seeing Sir Kenny’s beaming face on their screens from the Old Trafford stands just moments after the cameras focused in on a shell-shocked Sir Alex Ferguson with the former Manchester United manager shown shaking his head in disbelief at the shambolic display from a side led by his ex-player Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Daglish’s daughter Lauren posted the clip of her father and his fellow Scot on Twitter, quoting her mother Marina as saying: “so glad I cut your dad’s hair today!”

In reply, Sir Kenny put: “Not that I’m superstitious, but I’m going to need a haircut every week!”

The 70-year-old former Liverpool striker and manager also posted a photograph for his 85,000 Instagram followers, showing two glasses toasting the victory next to an unopened bottle of Tignanello, with the caption: “Cheers boys. Kept the wine for special occasions.”
